Beacon Heights is a residential area in east Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was once part of the Town of Beverly before being annexed by the city in 1961.The earliest development in the neighbourhood dates back to 1910, even before Beverly was incorporated into a town.
Almost one in ten of the homes in Beacon Heights were completed before the end of World War II. Over half of the residences were completed before the annexation to Edmonton. Just over 75% of the homes are single family structures. The remaining inventory is divided equally between apartments in low rise buildings of less than five stories and duplexes. The area is considered quite stable. Roughly 85% of homes are lived in by their owners.
The northern border is 122nd Avenue, the southern is 118th Avenue and the western boundary is 50th Street. The eastern edge is framed by 34th Street. Jubilee Park, developed in 1955 as an Alberta Jubilee project, is located on the site of the Beverly Coal Mine entrance.
Beacon Heights Elementary School, part of the Edmonton Public School System, Beacon Heights Community League and Beacon Heights Community Hall all service the area. The Beverly Olde Town Centre is the nearest shopping mall, followed by Abbottsfield Shoppers Mall just east of 34th Street.
