Brander Gardens Real Estate
Looking out upon the North Saskatchewan River lowlands to both the north and the west, the Brander Garden district is a suburban community situated in the southwest portion of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Fort Edmonton Park lies in the river valley just below the community. The lowlands to the north and to the west border the Brander Gardens neighbourhood. Whitemud Drive serves as the eastern boundary, and 51 Avenue borders on the south.
Construction in the Brander Gardens district, according to the 2001 federal census, took place primarily in the 1970’s, with three fourths of the dwellings in the area being built at this time. A small percentage of the residential properties were constructed in the 1960’s (13%) and 1980’s (8.4%).
Low-rise apartments and condominiums account for about 36% of the dwellings in Brander Gardens (2005 municipal census). Single-family homes make up 30%, with townhouses (24%) and duplex housing (10%) comprising the remainder. Three fifths of the residential properties in the district are lived in by the owners, while the other two fifths are rental property.
