Canon Ridge Real Estate
Canon Ridge is in north east Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in the Hermitage Area and overlooks the Saskatchewan River valley. The neighbourhood is named for an Anglican minister who arrived in the Edmonton area back in 1875. The western edge is framed by the Victoria Trail, the south by the Yellowhead Trail and the north by the Kennedale Ravine. The North Saskatchewan River valley is to the east.
The development began in the 1960s with almost 7% of the homes being built in that decade. Another 11% were built in the 1970s. The majority of homes were built in the 1980s when over 78% of the properties were constructed. The remainder were finished by 1991 when the development was considered complete.
The most common type of residential housing is the apartment style condominium in buildings of fewer than five stories. These make up 39% of all residences. Single family homes account for 30% and row houses for 28% of the housing market. Most of the remaining inventory consists of duplexes. Over 67% of homes are owner occupied.
The closest shopping mall is Abbottsfield Shopping Centre to the south and the closest school is Overlanders Elementary School, part of the Edmonton Public School System, to the west. The Belvedere Station of the Edmonton LRT system is to the west of the area. From this station, residents have access to Rexall Place, Edmonton Northlands, the Commonwealth Stadium, University of Alberta and the downtown core.
