Capilano Real Estate

Established in the 1950s, Capilano sits in the south east of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and overlooks the lovely North Saskatchewan River valley. Construction started to blossom after the end of World War II and from 1946 to 1960 almost 85% of the residential properties were completed. The remainder were completed during the 1960s with the neighbourhood being considered complete as of 1970. All of the homes are single family residences and 96% are owner occupied.

The North Saskatchewan River valley frames Capilano on the north, north west and north east borders. Wayne Gretsky Drive fronts its western edge and the southern border west of 50th Street is 106th Avenue. Then things get interesting. Capilano’s boundary rather zig zags running north east until it hits the Gold Bar Ravine, the neighbourhood’s eastern boundary.

Capilano is just a bit north of Edmonton’s Capilano Mall. Two schools are in the area, Capilano Elementary (public) and St. Gabriel Catholic Elementary School (Edmonton Catholic School System).
