Central McDougall, located just north of the downtown core of the City of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, is a lower income, residential neighbourhood. The parameters of the neighbourhood are: 111 Avenue to the north, 105 Avenue on the south, 101 Street to the east, and on the west, 109 Street. Running through the Central McDougall neighbourhood is Kingsway Avenue.
Surrounding neighbourhoods in the area include the Prince Rupert, Queen Mary Park, and Oliver neighbourhoods to the west. To the east lie the neighbourhoods of Alberta Avenue, McCauley, and Boyle Street. The Spruce Avenue neighbourhood lies to the north and Downtown Edmonton to the south.
The Edmonton Public School System’s administrative offices are located in the neighbourhood. Other structures of interest located within the Central McDougall neighborhood include the Royal Alexandra Hospital, the Victoria School of Performing and Visual Arts, and the Prince of Wales Armory.
The Aurora Project, scheduled to begin construction in the fall of 2009, is a part of the downtown area’s "North Edge" redevelopment plan, and includes Central McDougall, as well as Queen Mary Park to the west. The Aurora project will include a number of condominiums and townhouses, with a total of 1220 housing units, as well as a shopping area. The Aurora site is bordered by 105 Avenue to the south, 102 Street on the east, 106 Avenue to the north, and 103 Street on the west.
