Clareview is in north east Edmonton, Alberta Canada and is a mixed use neighbourhood. The southern boundary is 137th Avenue, the northern is 144th Avenue and the east is framed by 36th Street. The Canadian National Railways right of way is to the west.
Development started in the 1970s when just over 5% of the homes were constructed. Things slowed until the 1990s, when the remainder of the residences were built between 1991 and 2000. Currently there are 420 homes in the area.
The most common type of home are rented apartments and apartment style condominiums, most in buildings of fewer than five stories, accounting for 74% of the housing inventory. Single family homes account for 13% and duplexes for 10% of residences. The remaining homes are row houses. 48% of the homes are owner occupied.
The closest shopping is at Londonderry Mall, west of Clareview via 137th Avenue. The Edmonton Police Service’s North Division is nearby. The district is served by the Clareview LRT station, part of the Edmonton light rail system. From this departure point residents have easy access to Rexall Place, the Commonwealth Stadium, the University of Alberta and the downtown core. This is a park and ride station. John D. Bracco Junior High School, part of the Edmonton Public School System, serves the area.
