Delwood Real Estate

Delwood is located in north east Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and it got its start just about the time that World War II ended. About 10% of the homes were built between 1946 and 1960. The majority of the building occurred in the 1960s, when 80% of the housing inventory was constructed. The remainder were completed in the 1970s and the development is considered complete.

Almost 87% of the homes are single family dwellings, followed by duplexes at 8%. Apartments in low rise buildings of less than five stories make up an additional 3%. The remainder are row houses. Roughly 85% of homes are occupied by their owners.

The northern boundary is 137th Avenue, the southern is 132nd Avenue, the east is 66th Street and the western edge is 82nd Street. Westbound on 137th Avenue leads to Northgate Centre and North Town Mall. Londonderry Mall is also nearby, located just to the north in Kildare.

There are several schools that service the area. Within Delwood’s borders are the Delwood Elementary School, part of the Edmonton Public School System and the St. Vladimir Catholic Elementary School. Queen Elizabeth High School is just to the west of the neighbourhood via 132nd Avenue and M.E. Lazerte High School is located to the north along 66th Street.
