The south Edmonton, Alberta, Canada neighbourhood of Ellerslie may be one of the newest areas in the city but it already has its claim to fame. Ellerslie Rugby Park is the home of the Edmonton Gold and in 2006 was a major venue for the 2006 Women’s Rugby World Cup. The facility hosted nine pool matches, four classification matches and both semi-finals. Rugby fans in the city did not have to go far to enjoy their game of choice.
The southern border is Ellerslie Road, the north is the Anthony Henday Drive, the west is 91st Street and the eastern edge is fronted by 66th Street. To the north are the neighbourhoods of Satoo and Menisa as well as the Mills Woods area.
The most common type of property is the single family home, making up 66% of the residential offerings. Row houses account for roughly 20% and apartment style condominiums account for 12%. Duplexes make up the remaining 2% of residences. Virtually all homes in Ellerslie are occupied by their owners.
