Empire Park Real Estate

Empire Park is an area of southwest Edmonton located near Southgate mall. Calgary Trail is close by, and provides an easy transportation route to many key areas of the city. Also close by is 111 St, which provides a direct route to Downtown and the University.

According to the last national census, a large amount of the properties in the area were developed during the 1960’s and 1970’s. According to the statistics gathered, around 74% were built during this time. The rest of the neighbourhood was developed between the beginning of the 1980’s and now.

Unlike most areas of the city, rented apartments are the most common type of property in Empire Park. About 72% of properties in the area are apartment buildings. This leads to most of the homes in the area being rented, around 94% to be exact.

Soon the neighbourhood will be serviced by the Southgate LRT Station, which will provide light rail transit to various areas of the city. This will benefit Empire Park, as renters generally rely of public transit more often than home owners.
