Glenora Real Estate
Glenora is one of the more upscale neighbourhoods in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Roughly one third of its residents earn in excess of $100,000 per year. This prime area overlooks the Saskatchewan River valley and is home to the Royal Alberta Museum and the Alberta Government House which both sit in the neighbourhood’s eastern end. Government House Park is located below both structures.
Groat Road borders the eastern part of Glenora, 107th Avenue the north and 142nd Street the west. The river valley and the McKinnon Ravine frame the south. The Westmount neighbourhood is to the east and north east and North Glenora is due north. McQueen runs along the north west edge, Grovenor (also known as West Glenora and Westgrove) sits to the west. Crestwood is to the south west. The Progressive Academy and the Edmonton Christian School are in the area.
Glenora is a more mature neighbourhood with close to 90% of its homes being built prior to 1970. Single family homes make up close to 75% of the residential inventory. An additional 20% are apartments in high rise buildings of more than five stories. There are a few low rise apartment buildings. Almost 80% of the homes are occupied by their owners.
