Greenfield, also known as Petrolia is a community of residential homes south west of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Petrolia may be a reference to the Petrolia Shopping Centre located within the area but Greenfield was named to recognize Herbert Greenfield who led the United Farmers Party and from 1921 to 1925 was Premier of Alberta.

Residential construction was started and finished within the period of 3 decades 1960 (77% or 3 out of 4), 1970 (20.6% or 1 in 5) and 1980. Single family homes comprise the majority of the community (92% or 9out of 10) with the remaining being an equal distribution of apartments and duplexes. The apartments are rented with approximately 1/2 of the duplexes are rented. The remaining duplexes and single family homes are occupied by their owners (91%).

There are 3 established schools within the boundries of the community:

Greenfield Public School, which is provided by the Edmonton Public School System St. Stanislaus Catholic Elementary, provided by the Edmonton Catholic School System The Academy for Maths and Science which is independently run and is located in the Petrolia Shopping Centre.

Residence not only have ease of access to the Petrolia Shopping Centre, by following 111 Street they can also easily drive to Southgate Centre. With the completion of the LRT extension this will also provide residents easy connection to the LRT stations at Century Park and Southgate.
