Keheewin, translated "eagle" in the Cree language is a residential community in south west Edomonton, Alberta, Canada.
To the west is 111 Street. East of Keheewin is Calgary Trail/Gateway Boulevard and to the north is 23rd Avenue and half a block south is 18th Avenue.
Edmonton International Airport and destinations south of Edmonton can be easily reached from Calgary Trail while Gateway Boulevard provides a direct route to Old Strathcona, the downtown district and the University of Alberta.
The 2001 federal census reports that most of the community was built over 3 decades. In 1970’s (14.2% or 1 in 7), in the 1980’s (64.2% or 3 out of 5) and finally in the 1990’s (19.9% or 1 in 5). However, the City of Edmonton reports that the Keheein community is not a complete community yet, with more development scheduled at a future date. See for more information.
Based on the report of the 2005 municipal census, the majority of homes (49%) are single family dwellings with apartments and condominiums at a maximum height of 4 stories being at 1 in 3 (36%). The remaining homes are 4% duplexes and 10% row houses.
