Killarney Real Estate

Killarney was annexed to Edmonton in 1913 but development did not get off the ground until the 1950s and 1960s. The neighbourhood is located in north east Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The northern boundary is 132nd Avenue, the eastern is 82nd Street, the southern is 127th Avenue and the western edge is 97th Street.

Virtually all residential development occurred during the first 25 years after World War II. Over 36% of homes were built between 1946 and 1960, followed by 50% being built in the 1960s. An additional 20% were completed in the 1970s.

Housing types are mixed in this area. Single family homes make up roughly 33% of the residences. Duplexes and apartments in low rise buildings of less than five stories each make up 25% of the inventory. The remaining homes are row houses. Roughly 60% of homes are owner occupied. The area is considered moderately mobile, with 41% of occupants being at the same address for five years or more.

Shopping is available at North Gate Centre and North Town Mall, both accessed via 97th Street north. Killarney Junior High School and Queen Elizabeth High School, both part of the Edmonton Public System are in the area. St Mathew Catholic Elementary School is in the area.
