In the Cree language, the word menisa means “berries”. The Menisa neighbourhood in south east Edmonton, Alberta, Canada bears that name. It is part of the Mill Woods portion of the city. The southern border is Anthony Henday Drive; the north is framed by Mill Woods road, the east by 66th Street and the west by 80th Street.

Development in Menisa began in 1976 with virtual completion by 1980. Most homes in the neighbourhood are single detached houses, nearly 83%. Row houses make up the majority of the remaining structures. Roughly seven out of eight homes are occupied by their owners.

The Menisa Shopping Centre is within the neighbourhood’s borders. Residents also have access to nearby Mills Woods Town Centre to the north via 66th Street. The Edmonton Police Service’s South East Division Station and the Grey Nuns Community Hospital are located to the north in neighbouring Tawa.
