Northmount is part of the Dickinsfield district, located in north Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The entire Dickensfield district is bordered on the south by 137th Avenue, on the east by 82nd Street, the north by 157th Avenue and the west by 97th Street. 144th Avenue splits the district in two. Northmount is on the southern end.
The entire Dickinsfield area, as well as a junior high school and an extended care living facility are named for Clennell Haggerston “Punch” Dickins. He was the very first pilot honoured in Canada’s Aviation Hall of Fame.
Roughly 69% of the homes in Northmount are single family dwellings. Row houses make up about 20% of the housing inventory with low rise apartments in buildings of five stories of less making up the balance. Over half of the area’s homes are lived in by their owners.
Several schools service the area. Northmount Elementary and Dickensfield Junior High School, both part of the Edmonton Public School System and the St. Ann Catholic Elementary School are available. North Town Mall and Northwood Mall are in the south west corner of the neighbourhood.
