Ritchie Real Estate
Named for Ritchie Mill, the former mayor of the City of Strathcona and original owner of the Ritchie Mill, this southeast Edmonton, Alberta, Canada neighbourhood offers good access to nearby shopping, dining and nightlife.
Ritchie is bordered by trendy Whyte Avenue on the north, 72nd Avenue on the south and by the Mill Creek Ravine on the eastern edge. The western boundary is a bit more complicated. South of 79th Avenue it runs along 100th Street. North of 79th Street it runs along 101st and 102nd Streets. Whyte Avenue gives residents good access to the University of Alberta, and 99th Street leads to the downtown core.
Almost a quarter of the residences in Ritchie were built before the end of World War II. Between the end of the war and 1960 an additional 35% of the homes were built. The 1970s and 1980s both saw roughly 10% of the development, respectively. The remainder were built after 1990.
The single family home is the most common residence, accounting for 60% of the inventory. Apartments and apartment style condos in buildings of less than five stories make up 32% of the homes.
