Rossdale Real Estate

One of the older and more conventional communities in the area, Rossdale is situated in the river lowlands just south of the downtown area in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The University of Alberta is also located in close proximity to the neighbourhood. Other areas of interest within the Rossdale district include Victoria Park, the Victoria Golf Course, the Royal Glenora Club, and Telus Field, the home base of the Edmonton Cracker-Cats.

When indigenous burial sites were found upon the area EPCOR Utilities Inc. had chosen for expansion of the Rossdale Power Plant, the project was discontinued, and the sacred grounds will be opened to the public.

In accordance with the 2001 federal census, approximately 9.9% of the dwellings in Rossdale were constructed prior to the close of World War II, 17.6% between 1946 and 1970, 11% in the 1970’s, 24.2% in the 1980’s, and the remainder were constructed in the 1990’s.

Just over half (51%) of the residential properties in Rossdale are apartments and condominiums, with single-family homes making up 35% of residential properties, and townhouses (10%) and duplex housing (4%) comprising the rest (2005 municipal census).
