Rundle Heights Real Estate

Rundle Heights overlooks the North Saskatchewan River valley and is located in north eastern Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Robert Terrill Rundle, a Methodist missionary, is the area’s namesake. The area has close ties with the historic coal mining town of Beverly that was annexed to Edmonton in 1961.

The northern boundary is 118th Avenue. The western border is 34th Street (until you are south of 111th Avenue), then the western boundary continues on 36th Street. The Saskatchewan River valley frames the southern and eastern edges. The neighbourhoods surrounding the area are Abbottsfield in the north, Beacon Heights in the north west and Beverly Heights on the western edge.

Development in the area did not begin until the 1960s, with much of it completed in that decade and the 1970s. The area was considered complete in the 1980s. The Beverly Dump, once it outgrew its usefulness was reinvented as the site of the Rundle Golf Course and Rundle Park.

Two schools are in Rundle Heights. One is the Rundle Heights Elementary School, part of the Edmonton Public School System. The other is the St. Jerome Catholic Elementary School. Shopping is available in nearby Abbottsfield Shopping Village to the north of the area.
