Located in the north east of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada the recently created neighbourhood of Schonsee is just getting started. To the west is the Klavatten neighbourhood, to the south Mayliewan-Ozerna and to the East the McConachie Area. The north borders on undeveloped rural land that is part of the city of Edmonton.
Its southern boundary is 167th Avenue, to the east is 66th Street and on the west is 50th Street. Though the setting is rural, residents have easy access to city amenities and resources. Shopping is available to the south at Namao Shopping Centre (the closest), North Town Mall, Northgate Centre and Londonderry Mall.
There are no schools in the neighbourhood as of yet, but there are several in the surrounding areas, such as the Scott Robertson Elementary School, Lago Lindo Elementary, Killarney Junior High School and the Queen Elizabeth Composite High School. Catholic schools are represented by Bishop Greschuk Elementary School, Cardinal Leger Junior High School and Archbishop O’Leary High School.
New housing developments are in the works, both for single family homes and condominiums. As of this writing there are no official occupancy statistics for the area.
