Strathearn Real Estate

The community of Strathearn is located in the southern portion of central Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Connors road borders the southwest, with 85 Street to the east. Strathearn looks over the North Saskatchewan River lowlands on the north and northwest. Surrounding neighbourhoods include Cloverdale to the north, Holyrood on the east, Bonnie Doon on the southwest, and Idylwyle on the southwest. Whyte Avenue lies to the south of Strathearn, as does the Bonnie Doon Shopping Centre.

In 1907, a portion of Strathearn became a part of the City of Strathcona, and in turn, a part of the City of Edmonton in 1912, when the two cities merged. Immediately following the assimilation of the two cities, a small number of homes were built. Construction in the Strathearn district did not truly begin however, until the close of World War II, when the community was redrafted. A large portion of development of the area occurred in the 1940’s and 1950’s.
